Pillars of Hope

Unafaa is Swahili for you matter

Widows

Single mothers and widows in Kenya face a multitude of challenges, including poverty, social stigma, lack of legal protection, and health issues.

There are over 8 million widows in Kenya.

Over 30% of all households in Kenya are headed by women.

The NHC will expand Unafaa’s RenU Workshop, equipping women with skills and resources to rebuild their lives.

AIC - KIkopey

Sunday School Meal Program: Unafaa serves 100 meals every Sunday to children and youth at AIC Kikopey’s Sunday School, providing both nourishment and a sense of community.

Counseling, Mentoring, and Discipleship: AIC Kikopey supports Unafaa with spiritual counseling, life mentorship, and discipleship for individuals in all programs, helping them grow in faith and resilience.

Ordinary People, Extraordinary Call: Both organizations believe in empowering everyday people to answer their calling and make an extraordinary impact through service and mentorship.

Aged-Out Orphans

Unafaa is the ONLY NGO in the Nakuru district dedicated to helping aged-out orphans—young adults who no longer qualify for traditional orphanage care and face overwhelming challenges:

10,000-15,000 orphans age out every year with a lack of education, housing, or job opportunities.

Only 10-15% of these aged-out orphans will succeed independently.

Unreached

There are 12 unreached people groups out of 32 in Kenya.

Unreached People Groups in Kenya:

  • Somali

  • Oromo

  • Burji

  • Maasai

With 5 million people yet to hear the Gospel, Unafaa is on a mission to bring truth and freedom to Kenya.
